Rita Bailey,a graduate of George Washington University (GWU) with a degree in Accountancy and a Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant (ChFEBC(sm)) is an established CPAand the President of Affordable Benefits Solutions, Inc.
She began her successful career in 1989 as an Insurance Agent. The decision to enter this field was due to the death of her mother at the age of 11. Her mother was a US Postal employee; and after her death, Rita noticed the drastic financial change in her family. As a result, the passion to dedicate her life to helping people understand their employee benefits and prepare for their family’s future became her aim.
Over the past 24 years of helping government employees, Rita discovered a common thread regardless of position or salary; 80 to 85 percent did not understand their FederalEmployee Benefits.This revelation became the driving force for her to develop an easy to read tool to assist government employees in understanding their government benefits. In 2012, Rita’s book “Understanding Your Federal Benefits: for the New Retirement Climate” was released.
This book is a must read. It provides clear and concise answers to the most commonly asked federal benefits questions; as well as those that may not have been considered. Navigating this new retirement climate we find ourselves in requires a competent guide and a willingness to change.
In addition to the book, Rita teaches workshops and seminars that supports the tools outlined in the book. Some of the workshops offered are: “Planning Your Retirement”,“Getting Your Financial House In Order – Credit and Debt”, and “Women and Money”. These engaging workshops and seminars are designed to equip people with resources, information and direct support needed to make powerful decisions about their financial future.
